Ross n Smith

Ross and Smith are two small islands connected by a narrow sand bar . It takes 40 min on a dongi( small boat) from Aerial bay, Diglipur( North Andaman). After finishing the meeting at Diglipur, around 3.30pm we left for this island. It was a short time but we throughly enjoyed inspite of our tiring hot day(for last 9 days we had travelled to Kadamtala, Rangat and Mayabunder).

As we sail back, a song comes to my mind.....

Thou, my soul's glory, joy and crown!

(Next day was Good Friday but we had to start early by 4.30am to take the first convoy). Back to Port Blair.

Manpur Beach

One early morning we packed up for Manpur beach (not sure of the name) about 15 km from Port Blair. We were surprised to find a gate leading to the beach was locked, it was managed by co-operative society . It took a while to search for someone who would open the gate. Dennyson had to wait with the car while we could pass through. We paid Rs. 100 for the gate to be opened (usual fee).
